Building the Future at XIC

The Board of XIC is delighted to announce the commencement of the construction of a new Secondary School Campus.  Located in Calle Cantallops in Javea, the new school has been designed to provide an ideal opportunity for pupils to fulfil their ambitions.  Secondary pupils will enjoy a Science and Technology department; with 3 science laboratories, a Food Science kitchen and teaching room and an IT suite.  A separate teaching block will house classrooms to provide the traditional secondary subjects with an area dedicated to Art and Photography.  These rooms are designed to accommodate no more than 20 pupils in each space   There is an indoor training gymnasium with changing facilities.  In addition, a Sixth Form Centre will provide smaller seminar rooms to allow teachers to offer specific instruction in A level subjects to small groups.  Included in this building is another Technology and Research space for pupils to source information they require.  In addition to an outside gymnasium, there are three tennis courts.  A staff centre will allow staff the ideal space to plan and prepare for the lessons they teach.  Completing the project is a Dining Room and Administration Centre.

Built to accommodate a maximum of 280 pupils, the site is designed to provide the facilities for pupils and staff to work closely in all areas of the secondary curriculum to achieve their collective dreams.  Classes will remain small as this is the key to the vital relationships that are fostered to create the best working environment for pupils to succeed.  Teachers need time and space to provide creative and well-balanced support for the young adults they teach and with small classes this is possible; providing focus on the individual.

Where it is vital to create the ideal space for pupils to learn, it is equally important to develop an excellent working environment for the teaching and administrative staff.  With their focus on creating a wonderful working atmosphere, the pupils will thrive every day and enjoy their learning experience.
